A short, sweet walk this morning in Anstey Hill Recreation Park to try out my new hiking boots, before the heat of the day sets in.
I was pleasantly surprised at the different views I got and the fun, winding, uphill, rocky trail. The wildflowers in particular caught my eye and I noticed the bees that were busily going about their work collecting nectar/pollen.
At one point I looked out over to the hillside to the North and way off in the distance, at the top of a big hill through a gap in the trees was a horse staring back at me (well I think he was staring back at me…hard to tell for sure). I thought to myself “that horse must have the best view in Adelaide”. I wonder if every day he stands up there watching hikers through the park?
This would be the perfect walk for a young family in Anstey Hill. There are some edges to beware of once you’re up higher but the trail stays back from those edges quite a bit and the drops aren’t too steep. Much safer than some of the other walks through this Park and it’s only 1.1km long.
One of the funny things about this walk was that I discovered the point where I had bush-bashed my way back to the car-park once when I was walking the Silver Mine loop. Hooray for happy accidents – I’ll know this park like the back of my hand soon!

Ha ha…I agree. I hope the homeowners up there have got just as good a view.

Greetings from the northern hemisphere. It’s refreshing to see warmer weather is happening someplace. We have had quite a bit of snow already. It has come a few weeks early. I am afraid it’s going to be a long winter. So I really enjoy seeing your photos from your walk! Thank you!

Yes, summer seems a bit late here…it won’t be long until it kicks in though I’m sure 🙂 Thanks so much for reading.
